There is a systematic way to nail proportions every time, but for the purpose of this post, we will discuss how to draw a nose.

There are many different types of noses that we can come across. Flat nose, pointed nose, the long-nose, short nose, and so forth. First, you have to decide whether the nose is a prominent feature as some people have prominent noses. For example, the eyes and mouth can be very small, so the nose will be the odd one out. When it comes to a major feature on the face, then you pay greater attention to the colors and details of the nose to ensure that the strikes.

To draw a nose, you have to know two crucial measurements. Measure the height of the nose as well as its width. This will help you determine the shape and form of the nose really quickly. However, just having these two measurements are not good enough. The drawing is still just two dimensional. To make it look real, pay a little attention to the ball of the nose. You can’t really use lines to bring out the ball of the nose. So you’ll have to rely on your shading skills. Shading is always useful for bringing out three dimensional effects.

Once you get the right shades, the nose should be also very good. Try drawing nose for practice before turning to other features of the face.
